El faro Unterfeuer Blankenese ha formado desde el 29 de noviembre de 1984 junto con el faro Oberfeuer Blankenese la línea de faros de Blankenese para los barcos que navegan río arriba. El primer faro, construido en 1984, estuvo en funcionamiento hasta 2020 y luego fue reemplazado por otro y demolido, ya que la línea de faros se trasladó 600 m al sureste como parte del ensanchamiento del Elba.
