El extenso castillo de Ringsheim se encuentra hoy alejado de cualquier asentamiento rural: Del pueblo de Ringsheim, que desapareció en el siglo XVII, solo queda la ruina de la iglesia en el parque del castillo.
En la Edad Media, el castillo era tripartito. La casa señorial estaba en una alta isla amurallada; delante había dos recintos exteriores. Su tamaño inusual hablaba del poder y la riqueza de sus propietarios.
En el siglo XVII, la propiedad, que en ese momento estaba en ruinas, fue convertida en un castillo barroco. A finales del siglo XIX, se transformó en una mansión al estilo inglés.
