El Teatro Kleist fue una casa de ópera y teatro inaugurada en 1945 en Frankfurt. Se nombró en 1952 en honor al hijo más conocido de la ciudad, el escritor Heinrich von Kleist. En el año 2000 se cerró la institución municipal.
Entre 1840 y 1842, se construyó un edificio teatral en Wilhelmsplatz 22 según los diseños de Karl Friedrich Schinkel por el arquitecto municipal Emil Flaminius, el cual fue inaugurado el 1 de noviembre de 1842 con la ópera "Zar y Zimmermann" de Lortzing y desde entonces albergó el teatro municipal de Frankfurt. El teatro tenía originalmente 800 asientos, más tarde 609. En la primavera de 1945 fue destruido por bombardeos.
