La fortaleza de Alter Falkenstein, también llamada Castillo Alt-Falkenstein, en el Harz es un castillo en ruinas de una fortaleza de la alta edad media en el área de la ciudad de Falkenstein/Harz en el distrito de Harz, en Sajonia-Anhalt. Fue construida en el siglo XI y destruida en el año 1115.
El castillo en ruinas de Alter Falkenstein se encuentra en la parte oriental del Harz, en la región de Mansfelder Land, entre Mägdesprung y Meisdorf, sobre una cresta de roca por encima del valle de Selke. En un paisaje forestal del Parque Natural Harz/Sajonia-Anhalt, se sitúa en el área protegida Selketal, aproximadamente a 1,25 kilómetros al noroeste de la Köhlerhütte, situada cerca de la carretera del distrito 1344, al noroeste de Pansfelde. Desde allí se accede a través de caminos forestales hasta la plataforma de ciervos, que tiene una altura máxima de 364,2 m sobre el nivel del mar, hasta el castillo en ruinas.
