La aldea situada al sur de la Alb de Heiligenstadt es una de las 17 partes del municipio nombradas oficialmente de la ciudad de Ebermannstadt en Alta Franconia. Se encuentra aproximadamente cuatro kilómetros al noroeste del centro del pueblo de Ebermannstadt a una altura de 474 m sobre el nivel del mar.
Hasta el comienzo del siglo XIX, Eschlipp estaba bajo la soberanía del Alto Obispado de Bamberg. La autoridad sobre la aldea y el municipio estaba ejercida por su oficina de Ebermannstadt como oficina del bailío. También la jurisdicción superior pertenecía a esta oficina como oficina de centena.
