Eyzies de Tayac-Sireuil, capital mundial de la prehistoria, es un pequeño pueblo de Périgord Noir en el corazón del valle de Vézère en Dordoña, muy cerca de la cueva de Lascaux y de Sarlat.
Es aquí dónde se construyó la prehistoria como ciencia que ilustraron los nombres de Peyrony, Lartet, Capitan, abad Breuil y Glory; aquí que ha sido descubierto el Hombre de Cro-Magnon; aquí que se encuentra las maravillas mundiales del arte parietal, como la última cueva adornada policroma abierta al público: Font de Gaume.
Es en Eyzies que es implantado el Museo Nacional de Prehistoria, referencia absoluta para paleolítico superior y cuyas colecciones provienen en gran parte de sitios y yacimientos del valle de Vézère. Usted descubrirá también el Polo Internacional de la Prehistoria y el refugio Cro-Magnon en el corazón del pueblo.
