Esta cuenca intramontana a una altitud de 900-950 m es un paisaje curioso en la zona montañosa de Lefkada. Se llama el plateau de Englouvi. También forma el paso de montaña entre el este y el oeste. Pero a diferencia de muchos pasos de montaña que te llevan de la ascensión a la descenso, aquí te quedas durante unos kilómetros a aproximadamente la misma altitud. Los suelos son gruesos y están compuestos de una arcilla roja fértil proveniente del material de descomposición de las calizas circundantes. Por lo tanto, esas tierras a gran altitud se utilizan intensamente para la agricultura. Tradicionalmente, se cultivaba grano aquí.
