El mayor éxito de Michel Sardou en Bélgica y los Países Bajos es sobre esta área: "Los lagos de Connemara". El compositor Jacques Revaux fue el primero en crear la música, que le recordaba mucho a Escocia. La idea de Sardou y Delanoë era escribir un texto para ello con referencias escocesas, pero cuando descubrieron que en realidad no sabían nada sobre Escocia, el enfoque se trasladó a Irlanda.
