Montefiasconees un municipio de Italia en la provincia de Viterbo. Con 13.300 habitantes, dista de la capital alrededor de 15 km. Produce el vino con DOC Est! Est!! Est!!! di Montefiascone. Se encuentra en una colina al sureste del lago de Bolsena, a 113 km de ferrocarril al noroeste de Roma.
El nombre de la ciudad deriva de los faliscos . Más tarde, fue controlada por los etruscos. Se ha sugerido que Montefiascone ocupa el lugar de un templo etrusco llamado Fanum Voltumnae, en el que los representantes de las doce principales ciudades de Etruria se encontraban en la época de su independencia. Bajo el Imperio, la fiesta se celebraba cerca de Volsinii.
