Esta estatua se encuentra en Piazza Boccaccio en Certaldo, justo en frente del ayuntamiento y la iglesia.

A menudo te encuentras con el nombre de Boccaccio durante tu visita a Certaldo. Este escritor, poeta y humanista, que vivió entre 1313 y 1375, es el vecino más célebre de Certaldo. Es mejor conocido por Decamerone , una historia marco de jóvenes que huyeron de Florencia durante la epidemia de peste de 1348. Se cree que Boccaccio está enterrado en la iglesia de SS en Certaldo Alto. Jacobo y Filippo. Un busto de él se puede encontrar aquí.
