Depuis la gare de Wezemaal (travaux jusqu'à mi-2025 !), vous commencez par traverser un quartier résidentiel pour ensuite rejoindre le sentier GR sur la Wijgaardberg après environ un kilomètre. Ensuite, nous marchons dans la partie centrale le long de jolis chemins de campagne, jusqu'à l'église de Gelrode, pour reprendre le GR à partir du kilomètre 8,5 jusqu'à la gare d'Aarschot. Attention à la fin, car l'escalier descendant depuis le Kouterberg peut être très glissant. La partie centrale du parcours est proche de l'autoroute au sud et peut avoir une mauvaise note de silence (selon la direction du vent)
