La centrale électrique de Schilling était une centrale électrique au fioul située à proximité de la centrale nucléaire de Stade. Il est entré en service en 1960, a été agrandi en 1962 et 1964 et a été fermé dans les années 1980. Comme elle desservait principalement Hambourg nord pour l’approvisionnement en électricité de Hambourg et injectait son courant dans le poste de transformation, la première ligne aérienne traversant l’Elbe a été construite à l’époque à Stade, la traversée de l’Elbe 1. Les bâtiments existent encore aujourd’hui et sont parfois utilisés pour des exercices de contrôle des catastrophes.
