Le château de Garz est situé sur le côté est de l’ancien manoir dans le village du même nom dans les basses terres de Temnitz. Garz appartient à la commune de Temnitztal dans le district d’Ostprignitz-Ruppin dans le Brandebourg, en Allemagne. Le domaine est un bâtiment classé.
Le village de Garz est mentionné pour la première fois dans des documents en 1364, mais il est probablement beaucoup plus ancien. Il a probablement été construit dans la première décennie du XIIIe siècle sur un site de colonie slave. Le nom pourrait être dérivé du slave gard ou gord pour château.
