La chapelle supérieure du cimetière est l'une des deux chapelles du cimetière forestier de Düsseldorf-Gerresheim et a été construite entre 1963 et 1965 selon les plans des architectes Hans Junghanns et Gerhard Nitschke pour la ville de Düsseldorf.
Le espace sacré est bâti sur un plan circulaire en forme de cône tronqué. Le toit de la chapelle est couvert de cuivre ; le plafond et le mur d'enceinte sont inclinés vers l'intérieur ; la lumière du jour ne pénètre que par une étroite fenêtre de faîtage. La construction ronde surplombe le hall d'entrée bas et les locaux techniques, qui sont regroupés sous un large plateau de toit.
