Le château de Herborn est situé au-dessus de la ville de Herborn dans le district de Lahn-Dill et a été construit à partir de l'ancien château de Herborn. Il est classé monument historique.
Le château de Herborn a été construit à la fin du XIIIe siècle en tant que château de pente et était relié aux murs de la ville de Herborn. Les murs de la ville ont été érigés après la concession des droits de ville en 1251. Le château se trouve à l'intérieur de cette enceinte. Il a été mentionné pour la première fois par écrit en 1350. Le château était le centre du marché de Herborn, que les comtes de Nassau détenaient en tant que fief des landgraves de Hesse.
