Mentionné pour la première fois en 1444. Le moulin avec guérite forme la fin de l’Obere Freiheit à la Niedere Freiheit. Développé comme une fortification, le bâtiment servait à protéger le château en cas de besoin. En 1910, la roue hydraulique est remplacée par une turbine. En 1963, le moulin devient la propriété de la famille Beyer par achat au comte Landsberg. Jusqu’à la fin de l’exploitation du moulin des années 60, après cela uniquement le commerce agricole. Depuis 1999, le moulin n’est utilisé qu’à des fins résidentielles. Une fois que nous avons passé la guérite, nous entrons dans la zone de la Liberté Supérieure.
