Neurhede est situé entre Leer et Meppen, directement à la frontière hollandaise. Neurhede compte 471 habitants et s'étend sur une superficie de 5,95 km².
Au nord, il borde le quartier Rhede, à l'est, le quartier Borsum, au sud, la commune de Heede dans la commune regroupée de Dörpen et à l'ouest, les Pays-Bas. La localité frontalière néerlandaise s'appelle Bourtange et fait partie de la commune de Westerwolde.
