Albiol [1] est une municipalité de Catalogne, en Espagne. Appartenant à la province de Tarragone dans la comarque du Baix Camp. Selon des données de 2017, sa population était de 479 habitants.
Bien qu'il ne soit pas mentionné dans des documents avant 1158, on pense qu'il existait déjà un peuplement antérieur à cette date. Il y a peu de données sur la seigneurie primitive du lieu. En 1158, Ramón Berenguer IV a accordé la seigneurie à Joan de Martorell, lui confiant la repopulation de l'endroit. En entrant au séminaire de Tarragone, Martorell a cédé les droits sur les terres : une partie a été donnée à la curie de Tarragone tandis qu'une autre partie a été remise à l'évêque Hug de Cervelló. En 1198, la pleine compétence du clergé sur les terres a été reconnue.
