Le château de Pals est un château fortifié du IXe siècle dans le noyau ancien de Pals, dans le Bas Ampurdan. La tour de l'hommage de l'ancien château, connue sous le nom de Tour des Heures en raison du clocher construit au XVe siècle, est préservée.
Le château est documenté en l'an 889 dans un précepte du roi carolingien Odon, lié au monastère de Sant Pau de Fontclara, où il est mentionné sous le nom de château de Mont Aspre. En l'an 994, les comtes de Barcelone et de Gérone, Ramón Borrell et Ermesenda, le donnent, avec l'église de Saint-Pierre, au diocèse de Gérone.
