Le début du promontoire est recouvert par le sable artificiel de la Playa de Ostende. Il dispose d'escaliers d'accès et d'un point de vue.
Au cours de la première moitié du 20e siècle, des membres de la famille Estebanot, parmi lesquels se trouvait un ingénieur et un employé du tribunal, avaient une maison près de la Punta de los Cuervos, dans la zone connue sous le nom de "Los Hierros". Mais certaines personnes ont commencé à l'appeler "Punta Estebanot" en faisant référence à cet endroit, au lieu de son nom original. Cependant, le nom "Punta Estebanot" ou "Punta de Estebanot" n'a jamais été déclaré officiel.
