Un Patrimoine hydroélectrique remarquable !
Le barrage de Vassivière, situé sur la rivière Maulde alimente en eau l’usine hydroélectrique souterraine du Mazet à Peyrat-le-Château. En plus de produire annuellement de l’électricité pour 40 000 personnes (soit l’équivalent de la ville de Brive), ce site contribue au soutien d’étiage de la Vienne et constitue un pôle touristique important au cœur du Limousin grâce à son lac.
