Le bâtiment, situé au sud de la Parkweg près de la Paterswoldseweg, a été construit en 1927 en tant qu'école primaire selon un design de l'architecte municipal de l'époque Siebe Jan Bouma dans le style de l'École d'Amsterdam. C'est un bâtiment symétrique sur un plan rectangulaire, qui se compose d'une partie centrale d'entrée avec une salle de gymnastique semi-circulaire en saillie et deux ailes avec des salles de classe.
