Preston Palace est un ancien hôpital à Almelo, reconverti en complexe touristique tout compris avec centre de divertissement. Le nom est dérivé de la commune partenaire d'Almelo, Preston, au Royaume-Uni. L'hôpital Princesse Irene, destiné à la démolition, a été vendu en 1987 par la municipalité d'Almelo à l'entrepreneur Hennie van der Most. En mai 1990, le centre de divertissement a ouvert ses portes, suivi par l'hôtel-restaurant en 1992. En 1997, une piscine avec un complexe sauna et une halle pleine d'attractions de foire ont également vu le jour. L'hôtel dispose de près de 1000 lits. L'entreprise fonctionne selon le principe du tout compris. Avec environ 500 employés, l'entreprise est l'un des plus grands employeurs de Twente.
