La Repubblica Autonoma di Naxçıvan è un'exclave dell'Azerbaigian, di cui costituisce una regione autonoma. L'area di 5500 km² confina con l'Armenia , la Turchia e l'Iran . Il territorio è noto anche come Nachičevan, Nachčivan, Nachicevan e Nakhichevan
Il Naxçıvan è una regione semi-desertica che l'Armenia separa dalla restante parte del territorio azero. I monti Zangezur delimitano il confine con l'Armenia mentre il fiume Aras lo separa dall'Iran.
