Bavikhove è un paese nella provincia belga del West-Vlaanderen ed è una frazione di Harelbeke. Questa frazione si trova tra le frazioni di Harelbeke e Hulste, lungo il fiume Leie. Secondo la leggenda, l'insediamento sarebbe stato fondato da San Bavo, che visse nel VII secolo. Nel 1120 Bavinkhove fu menzionato per la prima volta come villa Bavinghova, una composizione di un nome personale e del suffisso -hof, insediamento. Una prima chiesa in pietra fu costruita nella prima metà del XII secolo. Parti di questa chiesa, costruita in calcare di Tournai, sono state conservate nella chiesa attuale. Già nel 1146, il diritto di patronato della chiesa era in possesso dell'abbazia di San Bartolomeo di Noyon.
