Oostkerke è un villaggio belga situato in una zona di polder e una frazione della città fiamminga di Damme, era un comune autonomo fino alla riorganizzazione comunale del 1977. Nel 1974, Oostkerke è stato eletto il villaggio più bello delle Fiandre Occidentali. Oostkerke si è sviluppato su un rialzo - naturale o artificiale - in una zona di paludi. Sebbene sia stato menzionato per la prima volta per iscritto nel 1028 come Ostkerka, la storia della sua origine potrebbe risalire all'VIII secolo. Nel 1089 si fa riferimento per la prima volta a una parrocchia autonoma.
