Il Chalet Reale originale fu demolito nel 1953 dopo gravi danni durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. La famiglia reale soggiornò in questa villa dal 1957. Dal 1973 vi è stato ospitato un hotel e ristorante. Dal maggio 2004 queste attività sono state sospese e attualmente è un centro di riabilitazione oncologica.
