In questa escursione di un'intera giornata a piedi (21 km) attraverseremo i più bei gioielli del Parco Nazionale Hoge Kempen: prima l'area di terril di Eisdense TerHills (l'ex Connecterra) con "il panorama più bello delle Fiandre", poi la riserva forestale di Lanklaarderbos e infine la leggendaria Heide di Mechelen. Un'intera giornata su strade sterrate, nel silenzio e nella solitudine.
Ci familiarizzeremo anche con il bellissimo patrimonio minerario: il quartiere giardino di Eisdense con la "cattedrale mineraria di St-Barbara, gli ascensori minerari e gli edifici minerari di Eisden-Mijn e la ferrovia del carbone Eisden-As.

- Visitiamo due "accessi" al Parco Nazionale: 't Salamanderke alla Heide di Mechelen e TerHills/Connecterra presso Eisden-Mijn. Qui puoi anche bere e mangiare qualcosa.
- Partenza: caffè-campeggio 't Salamanderke lungo la N763 Maasmechelen-As.
