Già ai tempi romani era una terra di latte e miele. A questo ricorda il tumulo di Glimes. In seguito, raccolti abbondanti riempirono i granai delle abbazie e dei castelli. Più tardi qui venne estratto ciottolo. E ora è una deliziosa regione rurale, che si sta lentamente rendendo conto del suo fascino.
