Axenstrasse
Dopo Brunnen segue la famosa Axenstrasse, una strada che dopo la sua costruzione nel 1865 era considerata una delle più belle d'Europa perché la strada era così splendidamente incastonata nella roccia ed era costruita utilizzando materiali locali (pietra). Ora ci sono guardrail metallici e le gallerie sono state sostituite da gallerie, ma alcune parti della vecchia strada esistono ancora e sono accessibili solo a ciclisti e pedoni. Il nostro diario definisce la strada principale "molto pericolosa", ma non è così male, perché anche qui è stata costruita una pista ciclabile lungo quasi tutta la strada, anzi trafficata.
