Fischbachtal si trova nella parte anteriore dell'Odenwald. Nel comune scorre il torrente che dà il nome Fischbach, che sfocia nella Gersprenz a Stockstadt nel Meno. La distanza dal Meno è circa la stessa rispetto al Reno a Gernsheim. Si raggiunge il Reno tramite la L 3102 in direzione di Lautertal e la strada statale 47 nella valle della Lauter.
La vetta più alta è il Rimdidim con 498,5 m s.l.m.
