Il vasto castello di Ringsheim si trova oggi lontano da qualsiasi insediamento rurale: dell'antico villaggio di Ringsheim, scomparso nel XVII secolo, rimane solo la rovina della chiesa nel parco del castello.
Nel Medioevo, la fortezza era composta da tre parti. La casa padronale sorgeva su un'alta isola murata - davanti si trovavano due corti inferiori. La grandezza insolita testimoniava il potere e la ricchezza dei suoi proprietari.
Nel XVII secolo, l'immobile ormai in rovina fu trasformato in un castello barocco. Alla fine del XIX secolo ne derivò una residenza ispirata al modello inglese.
