Per stazione di servizio si intende una struttura destinata al rifornimento di combustibile ed all'assistenza ai veicoli a motore termico ed ai loro trasportati. In realtà, dal punto di vista normativo e tecnico, sarebbe più corretto parlare di impianto di distribuzione dei carburanti, essendo la stazione di servizio una tipologia di impianto, così come la stazione di rifornimento, il chiosco e il punto isolato.
