La Foresta di Teutoburgo è una stretta catena montuosa che si estende per circa 100 km da Hörstel a nord-ovest e prosegue fino a Osnabrück e Bielefeld fino a Horn-Bad Meinberg. A Horn-Bad Meinberg si trasforma negli Eggeberge.
La parte occidentale (tra Ibbenbüren e Tecklenburg) è raggiungibile in un'ora in auto da Enschede ed è quindi una popolare area ciclistica per gli olandesi. Qui si trovano salite fino a 3 chilometri (con colline come Lienener Berg, Dörenberg, Heidberg, Leedener Berg), belle città come Tecklenburg con le sue case a graticcio nel centro e Bad Iburg.
