Il Elta è un piccolo fiume nella Baar nel distretto di Tuttlingen, che sfocia nella Danubio da sinistra a Tuttlingen dopo un corso di circa 16 chilometri in direzione sud-est.
Il Elta ha origine a circa 780 m s.l.m. in un'area boschiva tra Trossingen, Spaichingen e Gunningen nella Baar, sul versante orientale della vetta più alta del Lombergs, Bildstöckle, che misura 816,2 m s.l.m., accanto alla K 5913 che porta a Spaichingen. Inizialmente scorre verso est-nord-est, uscendo dal bosco nell'area agricola di Heusteig e riceve il suo primo affluente da sinistra proveniente dal versante nord del Bildstöckle. Poi gira dopo circa un chilometro e due sottopassaggi della strada circondariale in un lungo percorso verso sud-sud-est e passa dal territorio comunale di Spaichingen a quello del comune di Gunningen.
