Nel distretto nord-occidentale del parco del castello fu costruita anche, tra il 1727 e il 1734, come già la voliera, la serra secondo i progetti di J. C. Schlaun. Il timpano piano sul lato sud è adornato allora come oggi dallo stemma di alleanza di Ferdinando v. Plettenberg sotto la corona del conte e la catena del Vello d'Oro. Tuttavia, Schlaun ha sottolineato in questo edificio la funzionalità di un edificio di utilità. Secondo la pianta, la serra era composta solo da una stanza con due serre attaccate per ospitare piante e alberi esotici. Diversi forni riscaldavano l'impianto in inverno. Nei due ali si trovavano le abitazioni dei giardinieri.
