La casa Dahl è un antico casale risalente al XII secolo, che appare per la prima volta come casa Dale nell'anno 1184. Nel 1273 si parlava poi della casa Daele. Nel frattempo, la casa è stata chiamata anche castello, come risulta da un documento del 1184, quando l'arcivescovo di Colonia acquisì il castello.
La sede dei cavalieri è rimasta nelle mani dei von Dahl fino al XV secolo, poi passò nella proprietà dei von Kalle, successivamente le famiglie von Diepfhaus e von Degingk condivisero la proprietà, fino a che nel 1855 passò infine alla famiglia Gerstein. La casa Dahl era a quel tempo una sede nobiliare abilitata al parlamento.
