Il municipio di Geistmarkt è stato costruito nel 1938/39 in stile neogotico, distrutto durante la guerra e ricostruito secondo il vecchio modello. Nella sua sala del consiglio si trova il arazzo di Emmerich, un tappeto murale realizzato con prodotti naturali del Basso Reno, che rappresenta l'industria di Emmerich. Il noto artista emmerichense Bernd Terhorst (dec. 1986) progettò questo arazzo nel 1940/41, mentre sua moglie Elisabeth (dec. 1956) eseguì i lavori di tessitura. Solo dopo 10 anni di lavoro – con un'interruzione a causa della guerra – si poté consegnare il capolavoro al suo scopo.
