Albiol [1] è un comune della Catalogna, Spagna. Appartiene alla provincia di Tarragona nella comarca del Bajo Campo. Secondo i dati del 2017, la sua popolazione era di 479 abitanti.
Sebbene non sia citato in documenti fino al 1158, si crede che esistesse già un abitato precedente a quella data. Ci sono pochi dati sulla primitiva signoria del luogo. Nel 1158, Ramón Berenguer IV concesse la signoria a Joan de Martorell, incaricandolo della ripopolazione del luogo. Al momento dell’ingresso di Martorell nel seminario di Tarragona, cedette i diritti sulle terre: una parte finì alla curia di Tarragona mentre l'altra parte fu consegnata al vescovo Hug de Cervelló. Nel 1198 fu riconosciuta la piena potestà del clero sulle terre.
