Questo avvenne durante i negoziati dei "vincitori della Prima Guerra Mondiale" al Quai d'Orsay nel 1919. Volevano annessare sia la Zelanda fiamminga che il Limburgo olandese. "Entrambi i territori appartengono storicamente, linguisticamente e culturalmente alle Fiandre", è l'argomento. Era semplicemente un errore storico del passato che doveva essere corretto, si pensava dalla parte belga. Ma quella "festa" non ebbe luogo...
