De Houw è un quartiere nel comune di Het Hogeland nella provincia di Groninga. Si trova a metà strada tra Ulrum e Leens, a sud della N361. De Houw si trova su un antico argine di salice che si è formato nei primi secoli medievali. Dalla IX secolo, sull'argine si sono alzati dei terrapieni. Due di essi si trovano presso De Houw; la popolata Grote Houw al lato nord e sud-est della strada e la non popolata Kleine Houw al lato sud-ovest della strada. Nelle vicinanze troviamo le Houwsterwierden e la fattoria Westerhouw. Presso De Houw, nel 1839, è stata collocata una vecchia pillory come confine tra i due comuni.
