Il monumento a Rembrandt è un memoriale del XIX secolo in memoria del pittore Rembrandt van Rijn situato in Rembrandtplein ad Amsterdam. È la statua esistente più antica ad Amsterdam ed è stata la prima statua dedicata a un artista visivo nei Paesi Bassi. Lo scrittore Johannes Immerzeel scrisse nel 1838 il suo Elogio di Rembrandt, in cui sostiene la creazione di una statua per il pittore. Immerzeel fu incaricato dal governo comunale di Amsterdam di esaminare le possibilità per una statua. Questa potrebbe essere stata la motivazione per lo scultore Louis Royer per realizzare un progetto. Nel suo progetto, rappresentò Rembrandt seduto e intento a disegnare, con un quaderno da schizzi nella mano sinistra e una matita nella mano destra. Rembrandt è seduto su una cassa, con le iniziali RVR, su cui poggia una tavolozza con pennelli. Immerzeel informò Royer a novembre 1840 della sua volontà di sostenere l'attuazione del suo progetto, ma morì l'anno successivo.
