Deze begraafplaats werd gestart in juni 1917, toen een uitbreiding van Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery wegens plaatsgebrek niet meer mogelijk was en als voorbereiding op het grote offensief (Derde Slag bij Ieper). De begraafplaats bleef in gebruik tot oktober 1918. De meeste graven dateren uit de periode juli – december 1917. In Vlamertinge waren heel wat artillerie-eenheden gevestigd, waarmee verklaard wordt dat 884 van de 1820 doden tot de artillerie behoorden.
