Wist je dat Wellen een beroemd inwoner had die nog eens de aanleiding was van het beroemde Stockholm syndroom. Het was de gangster Clark Olofsson, die in Wellen bekend stond als schrijver Daniel Demuynck. Hij leefde in een oud kasteeltje in Wellen waar hij met zijn bende regelmatig feestjes hield. Clark Olofsson had een mooi uiterlijk, een charismatische persoonlijkheid en een grote intelligentie. Tijdens een van de beroemdste overvallen in Zweden slaagde hij erin de gegijzelden volledig te overtuigen de gijzelaars te vertrouwen, te supporteren en te beschermen. Dat was op 23 augustus 1973 in de Sveriges Kreditbanken aan het chique Norrmalmstorg-plein.
Later zou dus Clark Olofsson hier in Wellen belanden. Er is ook zelfs een Netflix-serie over hem gemaakt: "Clark".
