RTILLERY WOOD CEMETERY
Artillery Wood Cemetery werd aangelegd door de Guards Division na de slag om Pilkem Ridge eind juli 1917 waarbij de divisie Artillery Wood ten oosten van het kanaal Ieper-IJzer op de Duitsers veroverde. De begraafplaats lag net naast de noordzijde van het bos. Het bleef een frontlijnbegraafplaats tot maart 1918.
Op de wapenstilstand lagen er 141 graven. Er kwam een uitbreiding door de bijzetting van stoffelijke overschotten van ontruimde kleinere begraafplaatsen en gevonden lichamen op het slagveld rond Boezinge.
Er liggen nu 1307 slachtoffers van de eerste wereldoorlog begraven waaronder 506 niet-geïdentificeerden en 12 slachtoffers met een 'special memorial' "Known to be buried in this cemetery" of "Believed to be buried in this cemetery".
De begraafplaats werd ontworpen door Sir Reginald Blomfield.
