Loterbol is een spotnaam die de Diestenaars kregen van hun concurrenten de Mechelaars. Een loterbol is een bol die niet vast zit. Brouwerij Loterbol, vroeger gekend als "De Brouwketel" en "Brouwerij Duysters", bestaat uit een huisbrouwerij en een aparte brouwerij.
Vanaf 1860 is men in Diest donkere bieren gaan brouwen, beter gekend als Diesters.
Brouwerij Duysters was gekend voor zijn Royale, een donkerzwart type gildenbier en zijn bruine tafelbieren.
Vandaag kan je kennismaken met de Loterbol van het vat, Loterbol-Blond, Loterbol-Bruin en de Tuverbol. (bron: Toerisme Vlaams-Brabant)
