Description

Een groot deel van Fort 7 is als natuurgebied beschermd, maar niet de zone buiten de gracht langsheen de Moerelei. Dit fort heeft opvallend hogere wallen dan de andere exemplaren uit de fortengordel. Vanuit de buitenste schil is dit over de gracht heen goed te zien. In de buitenrand zijn vandaag enkele recreatieve activiteiten georganiseerd zoals een hondenloopzone, een arboretum en een visclub. Deze laatste gebruiken de grote gracht, langs de oevers zijn talrijke visplekken ingericht.
