Zwijnaarde heeft nog een echt dorpsplein met een kiosk en omringd door huizen. Het plein wordt getooid met een afbeelding van een ‘Zwijntje’. Destijds was het een landbouwersdorp en de molen is een van de relieken aan die tijd. De kerk is toegewijd aan Sint-Niklaas. Merkwaardig is dat er bewust een Jezusbeeld zonder benen is opgehangen.
