Vroeger was Pailhe een must voor pelgrims.
Er is een grot gewijd aan de Maagd Maria. Het was de eerste die in België werd geïnstalleerd na de verschijningen in Lourdes. Het was pastoor Graerts die er in 1882 alles aan deed om ervoor te zorgen dat de grot van Pailhe het daglicht zou zien.
