Deze eenvoudige kapel is aangebouwd aan de voormalige schuur van het huis in de Kruisweg.
De kapel is gewijd aan Onze Lieve Vrouw. Doorheen de eeuwen zijn talloze verschijningen en mirakels aan Maria toegeschreven (zoals in Lourdes of Fatima), wat haar verering wereldwijd versterkte. Dit leidde tot de bouw van duizenden Mariakapellen, ook op het Vlaamse platteland.
Het is duidelijk dat deze kapel samen gebouwd werd met de schuur. Mogelijks was deze kapel een onderdeel van een processie of werd ze gebouwd om de welstellendheid van de famillie aan te tonen.
